The House directed its Works and Transports Committee to embark on on-site assessment of on going road projects in the State

Oyo State House of Assembly has directed it's standing committee on Works and Transport to embark on road assessment to on going Road project along Ido- Eruwa Road and ensure total compliance of Contractors handling the project.
The House gave the directive today during the plenary sitting which was presided over by the Speaker, Rt.Hon. Olagunju Ojo.

While discussing on a Motion, " Urgent need to fast track the Rehabilitation of Ido-Eruwa road for easy transportation and enhanced socio Economic Development of Ibarapa Axis of the State, moved by Hon Jimoh Akintunde, the Lawmakers concerned that there is need to take all necessary measures to ensure expeditious rehabilitation of the road project for the benefit of people of Ibarapa and Oyo State in general.

In another development, Oyo State Government has been urged to make Oyo Town and it's environs a Special case for the purpose of curtailing unending gang violence such that the state can continue to pride itself as a safe haven.

The appeal followed another motion moved by Hon. Muideen Olagunju representing Oyo east and west State Constituency on urgent need to eradicate recurring gang related violence in Oyo Town.

In his presentation, Hon. Olagunju stated that the rampaging criminals often take to the use of dangerous weapons and criminal charms in the pursuit of violence and reprisal attacks thereby causing trepidation, confusion and shutting down of socio-economic activities in the affected areas.

Earlier at the plenary, the House has directed the Chairman, Ibadan South - East Local Government to appear before the House over the stoppage of OYSROMA Officials from Rehabilitating Odinjo road that links Ibadan- Lagos Expresseway around Muslim Area. The House has adjourned till 25th of September, 2018.
