The 9th Assembly in Oyo State is committed to providing peaceful atmosphere and will make all efforts to ensure the amendment of the existing law on security in order to have adequate protection for the lives and properties of people living in the State.
The Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi, who also doubles as the chairman of Ad-Hoc committee investigating the violence that rock some part of the State recently made the declaration today, while addressing the Security agents and the Community Leaders in the caucus room of Oyo State House of Assembly complex, Secretariat Ibadan.
Hon. Fadeyi added that the present administration in the State, under the leadership of Governor Oluseyi Makinde is taking the security issues as a priority, promised that the challenges will soon be completely eradicated in the State.
The Deputy Speaker stressed further that the committee will work on the report gathered and provide resolutions that will bring relief to the Community soonest, urged the security agencies to be more vigilant at the areas of violence in the State.
In his presentation, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi enjoined the community leaders to always give out information that can help in apprehending the culprits around Ibadan Southwest 1, added that the State House of Assembly will not relent in her continuous efforts of ensuring peace in the area, and the State at Large.
Other Lawmakers spoke at the meeting commended the efforts of the State Commissioner of Police for curbing the menace of hooliganism and activities of hoodlums in the State.
The Lawmakers, however, promised that the State Government will facilitate the siting of Police Post in the area for the safety of lives and properties.
Present at the Security meeting is the State Commissioner of, Mr. Shina Olukolu, other security agencies in the State, and the Community leaders in Ibadan Southwest 1.
